Scream VI Cast On Legacy Films, Neve Campbell’s Absence & Black & Brown Representation In Horror

It is finally here, Scream VI and in anticipation, of the release, we had a chance to sit down with Jenna Ortega, who has been showing off her diverse skill set following her debut as Wednesday Addams on Netflix’s Wednesday. We also caught up with Melissa Barrera, Mason Gooding, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Matt Bettinelli, Tyler Gillett of Radio Silence & “My Best Friend’s Wedding” star Dermot Mulroney.

Scream has been around for years and has made its mark as the blueprint of slasher films, so we had to ask the method behind bringing a legacy film back and why Scream is still relevant today even without one of its main characters, Sidney Prescott played by Neve Campbell.

This Scream is unique as it is set in the big apple and the amount of gore and shock factor is higher than its predecessors, but the film also excels in other areas. We see black, brown, and LGBTQIA characters in hero roles, surviving until the end. The film mirrors modern society and it is about time we have this representation!

Four survivors of the Ghostface murders leave Woodsboro behind for a fresh start in New York City. However, they soon find themselves in a fight for their lives when a new killer embarks on a bloody rampage.
Last time we left off with the death of beloved Dewey, but this time around we gained Detective Bailey played by Dermot Mulroney, and we had to touch on his role coming into the film and filling in those big shows, but as always with Scream, not everything is as it seems!
Scream VI is in theatres now!
