Sauce Walka is speaking out after a California man was fatally shot for allegedly trying to steal the rapper’s chain Thursday night.

News of the shooting went viral on social media after Sauce Walka posted a photo of white Louis Vuitton sneakers covered in small blood stains on his Instagram story moments after the incident. “F*****D UP MY LOUIS…..DUMMY,” he wrote above the photo. After the cryptic post, the Houston rapper decided to clear the air about the situation and addressed the youth about the ups and downs of being a rapper in a follow-up video.

“I really didn’t want to speak on this sh**t. But I know it’s too many black kings and young kings out there that are being misled and misguided wrong. So, y’all need to learn from this experience that I went through tonight. There’s a lot of young men that want to do this sh** but don’t know everything that comes with it,’ he explained.

“But understand this, everybody ain’t going and I’m one of those people that is not going. So, unfortunately, tonight someone lost their life for doing something stupid.”
According to Blavity, he also encouraged young Black men to look at other career prospects instead of robbing or stealing.

The shooting sparked debate on Instgram and Twitter as several of Sauce Walka fans supported his decision to act on self defense.

The shooting victim’s identity is currently unknown and no further information regarding the incident. An investigation is currently underway.
