San Antonio Zoo: Name A Cockroach After Your Ex & Watch It Get Eaten For Valentine’s Day!

If you’re needing help getting over an ex, the San Antonio Zoo has your back as they’re offering customers the opportunity to name a cockroach after your former lover and watch them get eaten by another animal for Valentine’s Day!

The initiative is a part of the zoo’s “Cry Me A Cockroach” event for this year’s V-Day and goes for just $5 a roach, which will be fed to either a bird, reptile or mammal. The zoo also says if your ex-boo was real vicious lover, you can pay $20 more to have one of the zoo keepers feed a frozen rate to a reptile, instead of a crawly roach.

Also, if you’re not too into critters, the zoo will offer a $5 herbivore option that includes a romaine lettuce, cabbage and other leafy greens that will be feed to the vegetarian animals housed there. And although we’re in a pandemic and you can’t physically be there to watch the extravaganza, the zoo plans to stream the feedings on Facebook Live for all to enjoy. Once your feeding happens, you’ll also receive a certificate to share on your social media for you to repost and even tag if you’ve got the gull!

For those interested, you have until February 13 at 6 p.m. ET to register online at the zoo’s website. During the event, only your first name will be displayed. All money raised will go towards expanding the zoo’s jaguar habitat, featuring a connected overhead catwalk.
