Samantha Ware appears to have responded to the news of former “Glee” co-star Lea Michele being cast in the upcoming Broadway “Funny Girl,” just two years after accusing the latter of racism. Lea’s involvement in the show as its lead star Fanny Brice was announced on Monday, much to the dismay of Samantha, who seemingly threw shade at the New Yorker and her new acting gig on Twitter.

“Yes, I’m online today. Yes, I see y’all. Yes, I care. Yes, im affected. Yes, I’m human. Yes, I’m Black. Yes, I was abused. Yes, my dreams were tainted. Yes, Broadway upholds whiteness. Yes, Hollywood does the same. Yes, silence is complicity. Yes, I’m loud. Yes, I’d do it again,” she tweeted.

What seemed to further imply that her message was about Lea’s casting was her follow-up tweet, which read, “Also. My name is not Amber Riley or Alex Newell. Their experience was not mine and mines was not theirs.” The 30-year-old slammed Lea back in 2020 when she accused the actress of making her life a misery on the set of “Glee” in 2015, claiming Lea made a string of uncalled-for remarks about Samantha, such as wanting to “sh** in my wig.”

“LMAO remember when you made my first television gig a living hell?!?!” she tweeted at the time. “Cause I’ll never forget. I believe you told everyone if [you] had the opportunity you would ‘sh-t in my wig!’ Amongst other traumatic microagressions that made me question a career in Hollywood…”

What Happened Between Lea Michele And Samantha Ware?

Samantha’s words came shortly after Lea had taken to social media to denounce the former Minneapolis police officer, Derek Chauvin, after video footage of him kneeling on George Floyd’s neck for almost nine minutes went viral online. Derek’s physical actions ended up killing the father-of-one, sparking public outrage and protests around the world.

The “Scream Queens” star showed her support for the Black Lives Matter movement when she stated, “George Floyd did not deserve this. This was not an isolated incident and it must end.”

Has Lea Michele Responded To Samantha’s Claims?

After being called out for her inappropriate behavior on the former FOX sitcom musical, Lea had taken it upon herself to release a statement, acknowledging her mistakes and issuing an apology to those she may have hurt with her past actions.

“One of the most important lessons of the last few weeks is that we need to take the time to listen and learn about other people’s perspectives and any role we have played or anything we can do to help address the injustices that they face,” the 35-year-old wrote.

“When I tweeted the other day, it was meant to be a show of support for our friends and neighbors and communities of color during this really difficult time, but the responses I received to what I posted have made me also focus specifically on how my own behavior towards fellow cast members was perceived by them.

“While I don’t remember ever making this specific statement and I have never judged others by their background or color of their skin, that’s not really the point. What matters is that I clearly acted in ways which hurt other people.”
