Salma Hayek Almost Died From COVID-19 Battle: I Told Doctor ‘I’d Rather Die at Home’

Actress Salma Hayek recently got candid about her battle with the Coronavirus and how she didn’t think that she would live to speak about her experience, and how she almost died.

The 54-year-old spoke to Variety about her battle with the deadly virus. She had to be isolated at home and put on oxygen because her infection was so bad.

“My doctor begged me to go to the hospital because it was so bad,” she said. “I said, ‘No, thank you. I’d rather die at home.'”

Hayek began working on the House of Gucci following her recovery.

“It was not a lot of time,” Hayek added. “It was easy. It was the perfect job to just get back into it. I had started doing Zooms at one point, but I could only do so many because I would get so tired.”
