Several crew members who worked on Alec Baldwin’s film “Rust” reportedly walked off in protest due to poor working conditions hours before the fatal on-set shooting that killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.

The walk-off was planned after camera operators and assistants were frustrated with the long hours, pay, and staying at hotels in Albuquerque since production reportedly wouldn’t pay for hotels in Santa Fe. Crew members reported to the set at 6:30 a.m. Thursday and started collecting their personal belongings before learning they were replaced by local workers.
Additionally, another incident involving a prop gun also occurred on set when the gun misfired inside a closed cabin. ‘A gun had two misfires in a closed cabin. They just fired loud pops – a person was just holding it in their hands and it went off,’ an anonymous source told Deadline.
