Rowdy Rebel Released From Prison

Bobby Shmurda collaborator and New York native Rowdy Rebel was released from prison this Tuesday after completing his sentence.

Rebel and Shmurda were among their GS9 affiliates who were arrested back in 2014 by New York Police department officers. Rebel was charged with conspiracy, attempted murder, attempted assault, reckless endangerment drugs and criminal weapons possession. Back in September 2016, the two pleaded guilty to conspiracy and weapons possession as part of a deal with prosecutors.

They were sentenced to seven years and received credit for two years, with eligibility for release this year, according Rap-Up. The remainder of Rebel‘s sentence will take place under community supervision.

People on Twitter—including Chance the Rapper have been celebrating Rowdy’s release. Many are now also calling to free rapper Shmurda. Check out Rebel’s first day out video:
