Trans model, Rose Montoya is making headlines after going topless at the White House’s pride event last weekend.
Montoya posted a viral video of the event and showed some behind the scenes and even took a selfie with president Joe Biden. After going topless at the White House. She went on TikTok and made a video and argued that it’s “legal” to go topless in Washington DC. “I fully support the movement and freeing the nipple,” Montoya said. “My trans masculine friends were showing off their top surgery scars and living in joy, and I wanted to join them. And because it is perfectly within the law of Washington, D.C. I decided to join them and cover my nipples just to play it safe.”
“I had zero intention of trying to be vulgar or be profane in any way. I was simply living my joy, and my truth, and existing in my body” Montoya added.
The White House responded to all of the backlash after seeing the model go topless and released a statement that read: “This behavior is inappropriate and disrespectful for any event at the White House, It is not reflective of the event we hosted to celebrate LGBTQI+ families or the other hundreds of guests who were in attendance. Individuals in the video will not be invited to future events.”
Once Montoya made a video and addressed her actions it has sparked a oral debate on Twitter. Check out some of the reactions below!
