The South Carolina Department of Corrections (SCDC) is investigating a bizarre incident after a drone dropped multiple items—including drugs, tobacco, and even a crab boil dinner—at Lee Correctional Facility in the early hours of the morning.

According to WLTX, officials say the drone delivered a contraband package that contained two large bags of marijuana, a package of loose tobacco, a carton of cigarettes, and a meal complete with Old Bay crab boil and steak.

In a social media post, the SCDC addressed the situation with a mix of humor and frustration, captioning their post:

“Seems some folks were planning an early holiday Old Bay crab boil and steak dinner along with their marijuana and cigarettes — all dropped by a drone at Lee CI #ContrabandChristmas #WeAreCorrections.”

The post drew plenty of attention online, with users calling it one of the strangest prison smuggling attempts of the year. The department also shared photos of the recovered items, highlighting the growing issue of drone-delivered contraband at correctional facilities nationwide.
