As President Donald Trump doubles down on his critical comments made after Rob Reiner‘s death, the late actor’s previous rants and criticism about POTUS are now resurfacing.
As we previously shared, Reiner, 78, and his wife Michele Singer Reiner, 68, were found dead inside of their Brentwood, Los Angeles mansion over the weekend. According to TMZ, the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a call for medical assistance on Sunday (December 14) at about 3:30 p.m. Upon arrival, first responders discovered the two victims dead. Sources later identified them as Rob and Michele Reiner.
According to TMZ, officials learned the couple had their throats slit by a family member, possibly after a heated argument inside the home. Initial sources claimed one of Rob’s daughters found her parents dead and told police a family member had killed them. The source said the daughter told police this particular family member “should be a suspect” because they’re “dangerous.”

Nick Reiner Arrested And Charged With Murder Of Parents Rob Reiner And Michele Reiner
PEOPLE then reported police questioned the couple’s 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, in connection with the murders. Page Six next reported that after questioning, police arrested Nick for the double murders. Los Angeles Police Department Chief Jim McDonnell confirmed Nick as a suspect in the case. During a press conference, he detailed NIck’s arrest on suspicion of murder.
TMZ later reported that police initially held Nick on a $4 million bail. However, officials later revoked it, leaving him in custody of the Los Angeles Police Department, held without bail, as of Monday morning.
According to family sources, Rob, Michele, and Nick were at Conan O’Brien‘s Christmas party on Saturday night (December 13). During the event, Rob and Nick reportedly got in a “very loud argument,” resulting in others taking notice. Sources said Rob and Michele then left the party together, with no mention of Nick leaving with him or not.
It’s reported that in previous years, Nick has spoken publicly about his struggles with drug addition. He’s also addressed his periods of homelessness and openly shared other personal battles over the past few years.

Following the tragic death of Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele Reiner, President Donald Trump took to Truth Social. In his public address, he comment on Rob’s death while also harshly criticizing him. He said:
“A very sad thing happened last night in Hollywood. Rob Reiner, a tortured and struggling, but once very talented movie director and comedy star, has passed away, together with his wife, Michele, reportedly due to the anger he caused others through his massive, unyielding, and incurable affliction with a mind crippling disease known as TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME, sometimes referred to as TDS. He was known to have driven people CRAZY by his raging obsession of President Donald J. Trump, with his obvious paranoia reaching new heights as the Trump Administration surpassed all goals and expectations of greatness, and with the Golden Age of America upon us, perhaps like never before. May Rob and Michele rest in peace!”
Later, while speaking with press in the Oval Office, a reporter asked Trump about his cold and heartless comments. He doubled down and defended his post. He said:
“Well, I wasn’t a fan of his at all. He was a deranged person, as far as Trump is concerned. He said—he knew it was false—in fact it was the exact opposite. But, he said that I was a friend of Russia, controlled by Russia, the Russia hoax, he was one of the people behind it. I think he hurt himself career-wise, he became like a deranged person. Trump derangement syndrome. So, I was not a fan of Rob Reiner…at all. In any way, shape, or form. I thought he was very bad for our country.”
As Donald Trump’s comments go viral, social media is resurfacing past criticisms of him shared by Rob Reiner.
One clip arrives from a September episode of ‘The Last Laugh‘ podcast, where Rob slammed Trump and said:
“And so I’m trying to push back as best I can in ways that I know how, and hopefully we can preserve democracy because it’s a 250-year experiment that has, in fits and starts, improved itself. So I’m hoping we’ll survive this. And if we do, it’s going to take a long time to rebuild the shining city on the hill, the beacon to the rest of the world. This used to be the place that welcomed immigrants. Diversity was our strength. And now people are being thrown out of the country without due process. It’s nightmarish what’s happening in America. And, hopefully, people will be able to see that. It’s as bad as anything could be in this country at this point.”
In another clip, Rob calls Trump a “complete and utter lying buffoon.” He added:
“I’m gonna tell you the truth. He’s a fraud. He lies. He cheats people. Everything that comes out of his mouth, virtually, is a lie. And he’s a conman. And if you look at what he’s done with his career, and how he’s tricked people into things, it’s abhorrent.
I never liked George W. Bush, and his policies. But, I didn’t hate the guy. I hate this man. No, I’ve never hated a politician. I can’t not hate somebody who bilks innocent people out of money. Life savings. And we’ve seen it happened—with that Trump University. He took people’s money. $35,000. Wiped these people out. And he’s being sued for it. He steals from charities. I’m not making this up.”
