Nick Reiner Arrested And Charged With Murder Of Parents Rob Reiner And Michele Reiner

On Sunday (December 14), Rob Reiner, 78, and his wife Michele Singer Reiner, 68, were found dead inside of their Brentwood, Los Angeles mansion. According to TMZ, the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a call for medical assistance at around 3:30 p.m. Upon arrival, first responders discovered the two victims with their throats slit.

Sources said the couple’s daughter found her parents dead. She told police a family member killed them after a heated argument inside the home. The source said the daughter told police this particular family member “should be a suspect” because they’re “dangerous.”

After police questioned the couple’s 32-year-old son, Nick, they arrested him for the double murders. He remains in the custody of the Los Angeles Police Department, held without bail.

According to family sources, Rob, Michele, and Nick were at Conan O’Brien‘s Christmas party on Saturday night (December 13). During the event, Rob and Nick reportedly got into a “very loud argument.” Sources said Rob and Michele then left the party together. However, it is unclear if Nick left with them or separately.

Family friends also claim that Rob feared for his son’s mental health. In previous years, Nick has spoken publicly about his struggles with drug addition (heroin and opioids). He’s also addressed his periods of homelessness and has openly shared other personal battles over the years.

“Words cannot even begin to describe the unimaginable pain we are experiencing every moment of the day. The horrific and devastating loss of our parents, Rob and Michele Reiner, is something that no one should ever experience.

They weren’t just our parents; they were our best friends. We are grateful for the outpouring of condolences, kindness, and support we have received not only from family and friends, but people from all walks of life.

We now ask for respect and privacy, for speculation to be tempered with compassion and humanity, and for our parents to be remembered for the incredible lives they lived and the love they gave.”
