Rita Ora is ready to walk down the aisle after reportedly becoming engaged to her beau, Hollywood film director Taika Waititi, according to a new report. The “Body On Me” singer, who has been dating her significant other since March 2021, shared “simultaneous” wedding proposals with Taika and are now actively planning for their wedding, which sources say will take place this summer.
According to The Sun, Rita and Taika will settle for a “low-key” ceremony before hosting a star-studded celebration soon after, with one insider sharing, “This isn’t about them doing a big showy thing and crowing about it beforehand. It’s just about them being in love and deciding the time is right to formalize their relationship. They couldn’t be happier.”
Back in September, Rita, who has been extremely private about her love life with the filmmaker, briefly touched on their romance in an interview with Australian Vogue, making it known she was “in a great place in my life. That’s all I’m going to say about that.” Before settling down with the father-of-two, who directed a string of movies such as “Thor: Ragnarok,” Rita had dated a string of famous people, including Bruno Mars, Calvin Harris, and Rob Kardashian.

Elsewhere, in April, the “How We Do” vocalist reportedly inked a $6.2 million deal to become the new face of Prada, having shared a close relationship with the Italian brand for several years. Their ties have been so close recently that Rita even wore a Prada dress to the 2021 Met Gala, so it only made sense to scoop her up for an ambassador position, The Sun claimed.
“She’s a global superstar and straddles the worlds of music, film and TV. Rita’s look is iconic,” a source for the news outlet said. Of course, partnering with Prada wouldn’t be the first time that the 31-year-old has fronted a major campaign, as she’s previously worked with the likes of Rimmel and Adidas.
Not to mention, Rita also runs her very own clothing line titled Rora Republic, so she’s clearly not a stranger when it comes to fashion and style.

The doting couple has yet to confirm the news of their engagement, but considering how private they have been about the relationship, it would seem as if neither one of them will want to address the report.
In a recent chat with Harper’s Bazaar Australia, the pop beauty explained how, despite being well-known around the globe, she often forgets just how famous she has become since her rise to stardom back in 2012. “I don’t really think about it as a reality. I don’t bring it home with me. I love to think of myself as a normal person,” Rita gushed. “You have to also realise what you signed up for and pick the places where you’d like to keep them private.”
