Rihanna Privately Settles Copyright Lawsuit With Freedom United

Last April Freedom United clothing brand filed a copyright infringement suit against Rihanna over her “Fenty University” line, by Fenty x PUMA.

Additionally, the company alleged that Rih knew of their company before she launched her line, which used the same “FU” abbreviation as them.

While she ceased production ahead of the company’s cease and desist, The Blast now reports that the two parties have privately settled their suit, leaving the judge to close the case officially.

Furthermore, in recent news Rih is beginning a new venture with LVMH, to which she says:

“Designing a line like this with LVMH is an incredibly special moment for us. Mr. Arnault has given me a unique opportunity to develop a fashion house in the luxury sector, with no artistic limits. I couldn’t imagine a better partner both creatively and business-wise, and I’m ready for the world to see what we have built together.”
