As we previously shared, Rich Homie Quan, born Dequantes Devontay Lamar, was pronounced dead on September 5 at 33 years old. News of the rapper’s death first began circulating after fellow rapper Boosie Badazz took to social media claiming he was told of his passing. Boosie tweeted, “JUST GOT WORD @RichHomeQuan JUST OD!! JUST TALK TO QUAN THE OTHER DAY. #GoMissUN***a.” In a second tweet, he added, “JUST TALKED TO YOU BRA. #RIPQUAN. Never go forget yo smile n the way talked n of course yo music.”

The platinum-selling rapper’s family and rep for the Fulton County morgue soon confirmed his death, revealing he passed away at his home in Atlanta. Quan was 33 years old and turning 34 on October 4. Soon after the news of the rapper’s passing, audio was released of the 911 call from his longtime girlfriend, Amber Williams.

During the call, Williams told a dispatcher that she found him on the couch not breathing and without a heartbeat. She also revealed that when she tried to move him, he started foaming at the mouth. As the call began, Williams told the dispatcher her name, address, and which emergency unit she required. She frantically replied, “I need an ambulance.”

When detailing the reason for her call, Williams said, “My boyfriend he’s been sleep on the couch since this morning. Well, he never came to bed last night and has been sleep on the couch. I left him on the couch before I took my son to school this morning. I put a blanket over him and I just checked on him again, because he never got up. I don’t feel a heartbeat and I don’t see him breathing.” Williams continued to tell the dispatcher, “I turned him over and saw he kind of foamed at the mouth.”

Now, an incident report released by the Atlanta Police Department, and obtained by Atlanta’s 11Alive, provides some new details. A responding officer reported the same details as Quan’s girlfriend revealed on her 911 call, plus more. He stated that Williams woke up at 6:45 a.m. to take her children to school, and saw that Quan wasn’t in the bedroom, but asleep on the couch. After coming in from dropping the kids off, she said he was still asleep, so she went back to bed upstairs.

Around 11 a.m., Williams woke back up and went to check on Quan, which is when she realized he was unresponsive. She noticed that his body was cold and that he did not appear to be breathing, so she called 911. The responding officer did not find any signs of foul play and confirmed Quan did not appear to be “alert, conscious, or breathing” when he arrived.

The incident report also reveals that Rich Homie Quan’s brother, Andre Munford, told police that when he woke up at 3 a.m., he noticed Quan asleep on the floor by the kitchen with food in his mouth. His brother said it was “very unusual,” and proceeded to pick him up off the floor and put him on the couch. A cause of death still has not been publicly revealed. However, an autopsy was completed on Friday (September 6), but the results won’t be released until further testing is complete.
