The 32-year-old who welcomed her second child with husband Michael Darby earlier this year has been on social media trying to school folks on why it’s bad to spank their children. In one Instagram post, she said, “Stop spanking children. If you can believe in the development of science for physical health, understand the research about mental health.” She added, “Corporal punishment is unnecessarily traumatic. Break the cycle.”
That’s not all she had to say. While sharing a repost that lists some of the negative effects spanking can cause in a child’s development, Darby followed up with a video where shared a lengthy message to parents who are not against this move.
“I want you to known that you’re wrong, that you’re only practicing something that was done to you that has been past down. But now we know better.” She went on to say, “There’s much more information available that shows and disapproves what you’re saying. So you’re only tricking yourself, you’re only duping yourself, you’re only hurting your children and you are not actually helping them or society.”
