‘RHOC’ Star Kelly Dodd Under Fire After Wearing ‘Drunk Wives Matter’ Hat & Offering Weak Apology
‘Real Housewives of Orange County (RHOC)‘ star Kelly Dodd is under fire after she wore a “Drunk Wives Matter” hat and coupled it with a weak apology after the internet blasted her.
On Sunday (Oct. 4), the 45-year-old reality star posted herself sporting the controversial hat on social media while celebrating her upcoming nuptials with fiancé Rick Leventhal. After the since-deleted post went up in flames, Dodd uploaded a video, which has since been deleted as well, where she clarifies that the hat was a gift from a friend and was intended to be a joke.

While Dodd, who’s of Mexican descent, previously stated in June that she has “experienced racism” as a “woman of color,” she stated in her video, “You know what, all lives matter. People that can’t get a joke, go f–k yourselves.” Dodd also took to Twitter to release a note, “Over the weekend at my bridal shower I got lots of gifts and briefly displayed them. One was a hat with a play on words since I’m about to be a wife, I’m on a Housewives TV show and might be drunk once in a while. It was not intended to offend or make any kind of statement. Of course I support black lives and racial equality! Thank you all ❤ Love, Kelly.”
