Republican Leaders George W. Bush, Mitt Romney & Colin Powell Won’t Support Trump In 2020
For Donald Trump, it looks like it’s about to be a lonely run for the rest of the 2020 presidential race, as Republican leaders George W. Bush, Mitt Romney and Colin Powell drop their support in his re-election, per The New York Times.
In addition to many other GOP officials, former President Bush, Senator Romney, and former Secretary of State Powell have all confirmed they will vote for the presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden. Their change of heart reportedly stems from Trump’s incendiary responses and mishandling of the coronavirus pandemic and protests of police brutality.

Furthermore, with the change of heart, things won’t be too different at the polls this year for these Republicans, as none of them voted for Trump in 2016. It’s stated that their initial support for Trump in 2020 was due to him being an incumbent president and him initially sharing the same agenda with Senate leaders — however, we see that’s no longer the case.
