The reporter who accused Cardi B of promoting violence after she spoke about the protests amid George Floyd’s murder has issued an apology.

According to Metro UK, KTLA news anchor Doug Kolk played a clip of Cardi B’s speech and stated in a voiceover claiming that “This, as rapper Cardi B used her massive platform to promote the violence.” After Kolk’s live broadcast, fans along with Cardi B clapped back at the reporter for his statement. Cardi said in a tweet: KTLA SUCK MY D**K. I’m not promoting violence in promoting the PROTEST.

Kolk later retracted his statement and issued an apology to Cardi after accusing her of promoting violence:

‘I apologize to @iamcardib if I took her words out of context. I respect her for using her platform to connect with people during these difficult times and it was wrong of me to not let her full voice be heard. I will make sure that is corrected during my next segment.’
In the video, Cardi also emphasized the importance of voting and understood why people are outraged:
‘And as much as people is so against it, at this point, I feel like I’m not against it even though it do scare me and I don’t want anybody to get hurt. … People are tired. They’re tired of showing that it’s like, “Oh, motherf***er are educated, motherf***er could take the grown and adult way and act peaceful.’
