Got to love Remy Ma! The rap Queen recently celebrated her birthday earlier this week with a star-studded party. While turning up with her guests which included celebs like Fabolous and Fat Joe, she took a moment to make a hilarious confession about her age.
The “Whuteva” rapper took the mic and said, “I got everybody in here number. We call, text, we talk sh-t… so I appreciate all of y’all coming to my 35th birthday. I don’t f–king count the ones when I was in prison, and I don’t count the ones from COVID,” Vibe quotes.
As many are aware, the Bronx rap star was arrested and sentenced to eight years in prison after being accused of shooting a woman in 2007 outside a Manhattan nightspot following a dispute over money. She was released in 2014.
Despite that rocky time in her life, she’s always shown appreciation for everyone who continued to support her even after she came out of prison… especially her husband Papoose.
The big Soirée was hosted by her hubbington who also took to Instagram to showcase his love for his beautiful wife. Mase also surprised those in attendance with a performance of his 1997 single featuring Total, “What You Want.”
“Surprised the Queen @remyma with 1 of her fav rappers,” Papoose captioned the sweet post. “Felt good to see her genuinely surprised & happy. She’s made my born day special so many times. Papoose previously opened about their long relationship. He said the two met through a mutual friend, New York DJ, DJ Kay Slay back in the day. “The first time we met was actually in the studio between a mutual friend Kay Slay, and when she came in the room, I had never seen nobody talk to him that way, she threw her feet up on the table, she was telling people to turn music down, she was arguing with people she was telling people to shut up, and I was like WOW…I LIKE HER!,” he told BET in an old interview.
He continued, “I just stayed quiet, I kept my distance and later on down the line, me and him continued to work together, and one day he called me, and he was like, ‘You, Remy Ma wanna do a song with you!’ and I was like ‘Oh, really’ and he was like ‘Yeah, I think she like you!’”
Since 2008, Remy Ma has been married to Papoose. In December 2015, the two celebrated their love with a lavish televised wedding ceremony on Love & Hip-Hop and were surrounded by friends, family, and fellow hip-hop royalty.
Just recently, the two celebrated 15 years of marriage. Pap made a post saying, “Happy ‘FIFTEENTH YEAR’ year wedding anniversary to my beautiful, smart, wife!!
