Record-Holding Motorcycle Racer Ralph Hudson Dead At 69 After 252 MPH Crash
In attempting to break another speed record, Ralph Hudson, a record-holding motorcycle racer, passed away at 69 following a bike crash. He was going 252 MPH.
The veteran rider died on Sunday after succumbing to his injuries from his August 14 crash at the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah. Officials were able to rush him to the hospital, where he went from serious to stable condition. With family members and close friends by his side, hopeful that he’d pull through, he sadly succumbed to his injuries a little over three weeks after his crash.

A statement on his passing reads, “We sincerely thank everyone for their kind words, prayers and support during this very difficult time. Ralph would want everyone to stay strong and keep going fast.” Hudson was recognized as a legend in the motorcycle racing community, and had reportedly held multiple speed records as high as 300 MPH.
