R&B singer Sammie is breaking his silence after his baby mama dropped receipts following his recent cruelty to children and battery arrest in metro Atlanta, Georgia.
Sammie Arrested On Cruelty To Children And Battery Charges
According to online booking records, 38-year-old Sammie, born Sammie Lee Bush Jr., was booked into the Henry County Police Department on October 19 at 11:55 p.m. Officials booked him on three charges: 1) Fugitive In-State; 2) Battery (Family Violence); and 3) Cruelty to Children – 3rd Degree Witness.
It’s currently unclear what exactly led to the “Come With Me” singer’s arrest. However, it’s since been speculated that he was accused of assaulting his girlfriend in front of their child.
Although records don’t indicate the exact date and time, Sammie was eventually released after posting bond. Per the booking records, officials set it at $1,050. He is next due to appear in a Henry County State Court.
Since his release, Sammie fans have spotted him in public. This past weekend, he performed at the ONE MusicFest in Piedmont Park. On Saturday (October 25), Sammie hit the stage with members of his RSVP R&B group: Ray J, Bobby V, and Pleasure P.
However, as Sammie appeared in online videos from his festival performance, he was simultaneously going viral in videos and photos posted by his baby mama, Teanna Reid. Together, the parents share one child, a daughter named Journee Leigh Bush, who turns 2 on November 6.
In a post shared by The Neighborhood Talk, Reid shared images, videos, and text-on-screen posts via a burner page. She claimed, “Not posting it from my real page bc if u know, u know. Not tryna make a blog.. Just tryna bring awareness to ppl that thinks they’re untouchable…and God on Earth.” In additional posts she wrote:
“He says I’m not big enough to stop sh*t or ruin him. He got the platform and that’s cool. Not tryna ruin u sir. If I was, I would do it from my real page…but I didn’t. Did it from my page with 300 followers. Be fr. Karmaaaaaaaaa.
I’m not done bringing light to violent/narcissistic men who says nothing can stop him. Which is cool. Not tryna stop you from signing sad songs at 38. But ppl need to know the truth behind this fake quiet church boy!!”
She also wrote, “Mind y’all, I have to go home to this man…” Some of the posts she shared included photos of her with a bruised arm and swollen eye, a video of him tossing a tablet at her, an alleged text of her telling him she has a sprained neck, and videos of him getting arrested.
Sammie Breaks Silence And Slams Baby Mama’s Explosive Receipts After Recent Cruelty To Children And Battery Arrest
While reacting to his baby mama’s explosive posts, Sammie took to his Instagram Story with positivity. On Sunday (October 27), he said in a video, “Happy Sunday, first and foremost. I’mma let God have his say, and the courts have their say, and the truth shall set you free. Love. I appreciate y’all. Thank y’all for the concerns. Love.” Over the video of himself, he wrote, “Peace, light, and love, and 2 u all. God bless her.”
The following day, the singer continued to claim innocence by reposting uplifting posts shared by family, friends, and fans defending him. One person wrote, “‘This too shall pass.’ The Bible is right.” Another person wrote, “If you believe that crap about Sammie, you ’bout dumb as the person who posted it.” A third person wrote, “Sending so much love and light to my guy Sammie! We don’t believe sh*t they saying about you! Continue to be the amazing man and father that you are! This to[o] shall pass.”
The singer also posted a picture with his family visiting him at his home. His daughter also appeared with him. Earlier this year, he shared a screenshot of a post shared to Instagram Threads. It read:
“My daughter. I can’t explain it. She’s everything I’ve ever needed. Never knew such a love. Journee. I’m unhappy a lot. Until I’m with her. All pain and stress goes away. Thank you God and to her wonderful mother. I will die a happy man.”
Captioning the post, he wrote:
“Transparent moment: I’ve made some awful decisions in my life. & my route was and still isn’t easy. I’ve too been blessed and cursed with fame since I was 12. Fame means nothing to me. Peace and God in whom is the purest definition of love…only matters. I suffer from anxiety, depression & insomnia. Often times it takes intentional and extreme prayers to get thru the day (heck to even roll outta bed to face the day ahead). I’ve encountered suicidal thoughts since 2022 and (I rebuke that demon) in the name of Jesus. However when I look into my daughter’s eyes, all pain and suffering erases even if, just for a moment. Ever so grateful for my daughter. She’s my reason. My purpose. My everything. I pray I live a long Godly, healthy life so she can witness that it’s because of her, I’m still here. Dear: Journee, I love you very much. Words will never convey. Will journal this today so one day you’re able to look back and see how much you’ve impacted my life. 💙🫶🏾.”
