Ray J has been speaking out to set the record straight about the alleged second sex tape with his ex-girlfriend Kim Kardashian. As we previously reported, the singer spoke exclusively with the Daily Mail where he insisted that another sex tape is real, even despite Kim Kardashian claiming there’s not an extended version of their infamous 2007 footage.
Clearing his name, Ray told the Daily Mail, “I have never leaked a sex tape in my life. It’s always been a deal and a partnership between Kris Jenner and Kim and me, and we’ve always been partners since the beginning of this thing.” Ray J says the backlash he faced after initially being accused of leaking the tape cost him his career and left him feeling suicidal. “I couldn’t be a part of any reputable major network television show and do Dancing with the Stars and do America’s Got Talent or anything like that because of my image,” he said earlier this month. “Because of what they made me.” In the Kardashians’ new Hulu series, Kim becomes emotional when she tells her family and friends that her ex-husband, Kanye West, delivered the entire sex tape – including unreleased footage – to her after he met Ray J.
The entertainer claims the recent storyline showing Kanye presenting Kim with a laptop of the remaining footage was all a lie because he claims she had the footage the entire time without Kanye’s knowledge.
Ray J went on to talk about their past relationship and revealed why he ended things with Kim Kardashian and cut off her famous family. He admitted, “Apart from them stealing money from my family, we would probably still be together now. But when that happened, I said I don’t want to be sleeping around with you no more – you stole money from my family. So, that’s why we stopped speaking,” he said, referring to a lawsuit filed against Kim and Khloe in 2008 over allegations that they stole money from his mother and sister Sonja and Brandy Norwood.
The lawsuit accused the Kardashian sisters of racking up a $120,000 bill on Norwood’s AMEX credit card. It was eventually settled out of court – but not before they were forced to admit using the money to stock their stores DASH and Smooch, the news site notes.
Ultimately, Ray J said he tried to make “peace” with Kanye and Kim by handing over the extra material in a laptop that contained content from their sex tapes. Ray said: ‘I gave it to him in a private terminal at the back of Los Angeles airport, in a private room where we talked for four hours. I gave him everything I had, I showed him everything I had – he sat on the floor and he watched everything I gave him. It was everything I felt could have been looked at negatively. It was text messages with me and Kim over the years, it was a lot of different pictures we sent to each other over the years after the sex tape.”
Kim Kardashian has not yet responded to Ray J’s new interview.
