Rapper Kodak Black Pleads Guilty To Weapons Charge In NY

On Thursday, rapper Kodak Black pleaded guilty Thursday to a weapons charge stemming from a check-stop at the Canadian border crossing near Niagara Falls back in April.

As we previously reported, Kodak, real name Bill Kapri, was arrested with some members of his crew after he drove a Cadillac Escalade across the Lewiston-Queenston International Bridge into the United States. Apparently, State police found marijuana and a loaded pistol without a permit when they were detained by U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers.

During court this week, Kodak pleaded guilty to attempted second-degree criminal possession of a weapon. The rapper now faces two to seven years in prison. However,
it will be concurrent with his federal gun possession sentence.

Back in November, Kodak was sentenced to 46 months in federal prison for illegally buying a gun in his home state of Florida. according to State Supreme Court Justice Richard Kloch. to the news site, the New York sentence will be served concurrently with the federal one.

WKBW reports that the rapper remains in federal custody. He is scheduled to be sentenced on March 24. Kodak didn’t publicly comment on this but he did share a photo to Instagram, showing how he’s keeping himself busy while in jail.
