The father of Louisiana-based rapper JayDaYoungan said his son was ambushed by five gunmen before his death.

Kenyatta Scott recalled when he and his son were sitting on the front porch of their home Wednesday evening when a black truck pulled up, and three gunmen jumped out of the vehicle, as reported by TMZ. Scott said they tried to run inside the house, but two more people with guns approached them from the side and started firing multiple shots.
He said he was also armed at the time of the shooting and fired back to defend himself and his son, but Scott was shot twice in the arm. JayDaYoungan was shot eight times and lost a lot of blood during the shooting. After arriving at a nearby hospital, the rapper underwent surgery but later died.

Scott believes the shooting took place as jealousy due to his son’s success and making it out of Bogalusa. He says his son didn’t have issues with anyone and believes the shooting wasn’t gang-related. However, police believe there was only one shooter but haven’t identified any suspects or made any arrests.
Before his death, the rapper collaborated with Latto, Moneybagg Yo, and Boosie Badazz. His singles. “23 Island”, Elimination,” and “Opps” received over 100 million streams on SoundCloud. His debut album. Misunderstood, reached 43 on the Billboard 200.

The rapper reportedly had issues with NBAYoungBoy, but the details regarding their issues haven’t been confirmed. The mother of his son, Jordan B, also expressed her grief after learning about his death.
