It’s a real emotional Super Sunday for Randy Moss.
The NFL icon and ESPN analyst, who took a break from the network two months back to deal with cancer surgery, made his comeback on “Postseason NFL Countdown” just hours before the Super Bowl 2025 showdown between the Chiefs and Eagles. He couldn’t hold back his tears after ESPN played a heartfelt welcome-back video featuring shout-outs from legends like Bill Belichick, Tom Brady, Justin Jefferson, and more.

At 47, Moss was visibly moved after the video wrapped up, dabbing his eyes with a tissue while sitting between Mike Greenberg, Rex Ryan, Alex Smith, and Tedy Bruschi. “You already know it’s the big crybaby here,” Moss said. “It’s been hard, but I’ve got a lot of love and a lot of people believing in me.”
Moss shared that his aim was to be at Super Bowl 2025 after revealing in December that he’s a “cancer survivor.” He had a cancerous mass taken out from his bile duct, which is located between his liver and pancreas.
“I felt all the prayers coming through there,” Moss said at the time. “You prayer warriors, all my teammates. I’ve seen everting you guys tweeted at me. All the prayers. All the well wishes.”
Moss, who earned his spot in the Pro Football Hall of Fame back in 2018, ranks second all-time in receiving touchdowns with 156 and fourth in receiving yards with 15,292 in NFL history.
He had seven incredible seasons with the Vikings before facing a couple of tough years with the Raiders.
Moss then linked up with the Patriots, where he reignited his career alongside Tom Brady, smashing the single-season NFL record with 23 receiving touchdowns in 2007.
He made his way to ESPN in 2016 after kicking off his TV career with Fox Sports.
