MotoGP racing star Miguel Oliveira is planning to marry his stepsister after the pair kept their relationship a secret for several years.

The pair knew each other since they were 13 and started dating for 11 years before going public with their relationship in 2019. Andreia Pimenta,24, is the daughter of Oliveira’s father’s second wife and he says he’s excited about the wedding. Paulo Oliveira exclaimed, “I’m happy that my son is getting married to the woman of his life.”
As reported by the New York Post, Oliveira said his relationship with Pimenta started out as a friendship and their love grew as they became adults: “Before love, there was a great friendship. We grew up together. At some point we realized that it was more than a friendship, it is a very strong love. We were going to get married this year, but that weekend I had a race and we had to postpone it next year.”

The news comes after Oliveira won the prize at the Styria Grand Prix for the first time.
“I saw this coming already quite a few races ago. I felt we had the potential to do it, so finally to be able to do it is a huge boost to be able to continue like this.”
