R. Kelly’s Assistant Denies Recruiting Women, Says She Never Saw Underage Girls At Star’s Home

R. Kelly’s assistant Diana Copeland is refuting claims that she helped the disgraced singer recruit women and claims that she never saw any underage women at his house.

Copeland worked with Kelly for at least 15 years and testified at his trial. She most recently appeared in an interview with “Good Morning America” on Friday where she spoke on her former boss.

“[I] never witnessed something under … around underage women,” Copeland said. “Now, I did come and go, so I mean, I want to make sure that I am clear that my experience does not negate anybody else’s experience.”

“He never asked me, but at the time … he was R. Kelly, a mega superstar. He needed no help to recruit women, or to get women.”

During his trial when asked about witnessing any sexual abuse she said,

“When this case came up, I was reading women were locked up and kidnapped. That’s not what I’m seeing. I’m not seeing anyone trying to leave. Every woman that left walked right out the door,” she added.

Diana was in charge of keeping Kelly’s homes in check and making sure everything was in order.

“He would have live-in girlfriends, they would have their own rooms.”

“He pretty much didn’t want the girls to move around, he didn’t want anybody to roam his house like a museum.”
