R. Kelly has been ordered to pay at least $300,000 in restitution to two of his victims, a judge said on Wednesday. During a restitution hearing in Brooklyn, which the disgraced singer attended via Zoom from the Chicago prison where he’s currently based, U.S. District Judge Ann Donnelly said that two people would be compensated for herpes and therapy treatment.

Donnelly revealed that one of the women named Jane would receive an estimated $300,000 to cover the costs she’s amassed from her herpes-related treatment/medication, while another victim named Stephanie has yet to have her total calculated and finalized. But Donnelly confirmed that she, too, will be repaid.

Jane is also said to have requested to be compensated for lost income that her health condition has caused her over the years, but the judge denied the motion, along with a third victim’s filing, asking that she should also receive reinstitution for a similar ordeal. Donnelly is the same judge who served the “I Believe I Can Fly” star 30 years in prison back in June 2021.

Earlier this month, following another trial pertaining to child pornography in his Chicago case, the 55-year-old was found guilty on six counts but not guilty on seven others. Per TMZ, it’s likely that reinstitution could also be awarded to the victims specifically related to the Illinois trial, though a decision has yet to be made.

Jane was deemed a star witness to prosecutors, claiming she was paid off by the singer before his 2008 trial regarding a previous child pornography trial where her parents ensured the singer they would not testify against him.

Jane had also revealed how she had sex with R. Kelly “hundreds of times” before she had turned 18, a man she had once considered an inspiration and mentor. The convicted felon had first touched Jane’s body during a recording studio session in Chicago — she was just 14 at the time.

It wasn’t long after that when he began having sexual intercourse with her at his Chicago house. During their first intimate encounter, Kelly would tell Jane what he wanted her to do.

Opening statements heard by his defense attorney, Jennifer Bonjean, said, “There is no R. Kelly exception. It is true that Mr. Kelly is imperfect. It is true that, on his journey from poverty to stardom, he stumbled along the way. We won’t deny that.”
