A doctor in Queens, New York, has been charged with drugging and assaulting multiple patients, including filming the assaults. The accused, Zhi Alan Cheng, a gastroenterologist at New York Presbyterian Queens, allegedly used drugs such as fentanyl, ketamine, LSD, and surgical anesthesia to incapacitate his victims before violating them. The extent of his alleged crimes is pretty horrifying, with alleged videos found depicting Cheng sexually abusing unconscious hospital patients and assaulting other women. He has been indicted on multiple charges, including rape, predatory sexual assault, sexual abuse, and assault.
Cheng’s alleged victims include both patients and women he was dating. It is believed that he has assaulted at least six women, but there may be more victims who have yet to come forward. One of the victims was a patient at the hospital where Cheng worked, leading to outrage from the hospital administration, who stated that they are appalled and saddened by his actions. Cheng pleaded not guilty to the charges and is currently being held without bail at Rikers Island.
