The declaration was made while she accepted her Lifetime Achievement award at the 2021 BET Awards on Sunday. In her speech, she dedicated the award to her mother and father along with thanking her fans for their support over the years. While closing out, she acknowledged Nicols and their son, Rebel, and said “Eboni, my love. Rebel, my love. Happy Pride!”
Fans expressed their joy for seeing her shouting out her son and partner as Queen Latifah is known to be very quiet about her personal life throughout her career.

The couple reportedly started dating in 2013 and kept their relationship under wraps for several years. In 2019, the pair welcomed their son Rebel. Despite rumors of being engaged, there has been no confirmation from Queen Latifah or Nichols.
