Queen Elizabeth Notably Silent During War And Health Status Not Being Shared

A new report by CNN details why we aren’t being told more about the Queen’s health. As many have noticed, it’s been a big discussion not just because she is elderly but also because Buckingham Palace is releasing so little information about it, the news site notes.

In recent days, many people have expressed major concerns online. One Twitter user tweeted: “Praying for the Queen’s good health. May she feel better soon.” Another asked, “Has Queen Elizabeth II made any comments in regards to Russia/ Ukraine? No? Just Meghan and Harry? Why hasn’t the Queen made a statement?” A third noted, “‘the Queen’ hasn’t said anything regarding Russia and or Ukraine…” So far, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has spoken out and condemned Russia’s horrific attack, and warned massive sanctions against the country.

Meanwhile, the Queen who has been experiencing “mild, cold-like symptoms” as of last Sunday when the palace announced the 95-year old monarch had tested positive for Covid, has not released a statement on the war just yet. However, following the news of her diagnosis, it was made clear that she was not out of action but that she was going to “continue light duties at Windsor over the coming week.” Since then, she has canceled her weekly in-person audience with the Prime Minister and had a call with him instead. On Tuesday, she postponed an unspecified number of calls as she continued to experience symptoms. She also canceled her video calls Thursday but a source told CNN that they are being rescheduled. The news site also notes that the aides have agreed that the public has a right to updates on their head of state but they also refuse to give a “running commentary” on her medical condition.

CNN also reports that she’s possibly canceling her appearances because she doesn’t want to appear on camera when she feels unwell, but it also meant we weren’t able to see her for ourselves for the whole week. While many of us continue to pray for her health and recovery, more concerns now turn to the war in Europe.

As it was previously reported, Russia has finally launched its long-feared “full-scale invasion” of Ukraine after Vladimir Putin announced a “special military operation” in a televised address to his citizens in the early hours of Thursday morning. US president Joe Biden, UK prime minister Boris Johnson and UN secretary general Antonio Guterres have joined other global powers in condemning Moscow’s “unprovoked and unjustified” attack and promised to hold it “accountable”, with the Western powers subsequently introducing another round of tough economic sanctions against Russia.
