Quarantined Parrots Separated At Zoo For Laughing & Cussing At Guests
A British wildlife zoo had to separate five parrots for swearing and laughing at visitors. Apparently, the birds encouraged each other to cuss at guests.
The Associated Press reports that Parrots, Billy, Eric, Tyson, Jade and Elsie were removed from each other’s company at the Lincolnshire Wildlife Center.

The colony of 200 African gray parrots in August caught the staff off guard with their obscene language.
“We are quite used to parrots swearing, but we’ve never had five at the same time,” the center’s chief executive, Steve Nichols, said to AP. “Most parrots clam up outside, but for some reason these five relish it.”
“When a parrot tells you to ‘f*** off’ it amuses people very highly,” he said. “It’s brought a big smile to a really hard year.”
Nichols added that the parrots will swear to get a response from people, so if guests start to laugh the birds will continue with the behavior.
“With the five, one would swear and another would laugh and that would carry on,” he said. “I’m hoping they learn different words within colonies. But if they teach the others bad language and I end up with 250 swearing birds, I don’t know what we’ll do.”
