After rumors surfaced online about Atlanta rapper Quando Rondo‘s associate Lul Tim being cleared of charges in Chicago rapper King Von‘s murder, Tim’s lawyer now confirms the news.

Back on November 6, 2020, King Von, born Dayvon Bennett, was fatally shot during a fight outside of Monaco Hookah Lounge in downtown Atlanta, Georgia. Following the incident, Lul Tim, real name Timothy Leeks, was arrested by Atlanta Police the very next day. Upon his arrest, he was charged with felony murder in Von’s death.
At the time, law enforcement officials reported that Von was fatally shot during the altercation that broke out around 3 a.m. in a parking lot between Von’s entourage and a group of people that included Atlanta rappers Quando Rondo and Lul Tim.

During the shootout, six people were shot, three of them, including Von, died from their injuries sustained. It was also reported that two Atlanta Police officers tried to intervene after the exchange of gunfire; neither of them were injured.
In March 2021, Lul Tim posted a $100,000 bond and was released from Fulton County Jail; at the time, his legal team had argued that he and his associates reacted in self-defense during the brawl. However, it is now being reported that Tim has been cleared of his charges. Speaking with XXL on Sunday (August 20), Lul Tim’s attorney, Noah Pines, confirmed that the rapper’s felony murder charges were dropped. Pines said, “The case against Mr. Leeks was dismissed prior to ever being indicted.”
Responding to the initial rumors of Lul Tim’s charges being dropped, King Von’s ex-girlfriend and rapper Asian Doll took to her official account on the platform X, formerly known as Twitter, and reacted to a report. Media outlet No Jumper posted, “The charges against Lul Tim for shooting King Von in 2020 have reportedly been dropped.”
In her post that has since been deleted, she replied back, “Because the police said Tim ain’t kill him, the police did.” However, responding to Asian Doll’s post, several users called her out and said she was wrong; further stating that Tim was seen on surveillance footage shooting Von, and that he most likely got off on self-defense, as previously argued by his legal team.

Meanwhile, King Von’s family spoke out about their dismay over Lul Tim being cleared of his charges. While appearing on an Instagram Live, the family appeared to vent about their frustrations. In a video gone viral, a woman is seen asking why prosecutors did not contact the family before the rumors even popped up.
Elsewhere, despite being cleared of his felony murder charges, Lul Tim is still on the hook for other charges pending in Georgia. In October 2022, the rapper was caught in a high-speed car chase with police and was hit with a slew of drug and traffic charges.
