Amid the deadly ambush that has critically injured two deputies, protestors rushed to a local Los Angeles hospital and chanted “We hope they die” as the officers recover.

According to the New York Post, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department confirmed the news in a tweet early Sunday morning. It reads, “To the protesters blocking the entrance & exit of the HOSPITAL EMERGENCY ROOM yelling ‘We hope they die’ referring to 2 LA Sheriff’s ambushed today in #Compton: DO NOT BLOCK EMERGENCY ENTRIES & EXITS TO THE HOSPITAL, People’s lives are at stake when ambulances can’t get through.”

Two people were arrested who refused to move after officers labeled it as an “unlawful assembly.” One of them was LAist reporter Josie Huang and she said in a tweet that she will address what happened outside of the hospital.
“Hi, all. I’m out of county jail and am headed home. Thank you for caring. I have seen @LASDHQ tweets and have thoughts and videos to share soon after a little rest”

The two rookie officers were on the job for only a year and one of them is a 31-year-old female officer with a son. Currently, the ambush is being investigated by the LASCO with assistance from the FBI and no arrests have not been as of today.
