Meg announced the surprise mix in an Instagram post featuring cool cover art. She wrote in her caption: “I’m literally crying … being from HOUSTON MF TEXAS this sh** means EVERYTHING to me !!!!” Both artists hail from H-Town.” It’s only been a few hours since the big premiere of Meg and Bey’s remix, and the music video has already racked up nearly half a million views on YouTube!
Fans are super stoked over this collab for many reasons. On top of the Houston girls finally teaming up together, fans noticed that it B’s first new music since her “Lion King” companion album last summer. In addition to that, they’ve also collaborated for a very good cause. The women are donating each share of proceeds to benefit Bread Of Life COVID-19 Relief efforts in their hometown!
The Bread of Life, Inc. was launched in September 1992 with the serving of hot meals to homeless men and women in the sanctuary of St. John’s United Methodist Church, according to the organization’s website.
This move comes just weeks after Beyoncé‘s BeyGOOD teamed up with Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey for a $6 million initiative also for COVID-19 relief.
