Priscilla Presley is opening up about her early years with her late superstar ex-husband Elvis Presley. She is again denying that she ever had underage sex with him after first meeting when she was 14 and he was 24. She says people thought they used to have sex then, but says he just liked her because she was a “great listener.”

Priscilla says despite meeting with Elvis as a young teenager, she only ever dated him “in mind and thought.” The two would later get married in 1967 when Priscilla was 21 and Elvis was 32. In February of the following year, the couple gave birth to their daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, who recently died in January at the age of 54. In 1973, Priscilla and Elvis would finalize their divorce. However, Priscilla maintains that Elvis is still the “love of [her] life.”
While recently speaking at a press conference at the Venice Film Festival, for Sofia Coppola’s ‘Priscilla‘ biopic, the woman of the hour again denied ever having sex with Rock & Roll Hall of Famer. But she also noted that Elvis appreciated her secrecy about their romance.
On Monday (September 4), Rolling Stone reported that Priscilla said, “I never gave him up in any way. I never told anyone at school I was seeing him. [He liked me] because I was more of a listener. Elvis would pour his heart out to me every way … and I was the person who really, really sat there to listen and to comfort him. That was really our connection.”
Now 78 years old, Priscilla said she was always “a little bit older in life, but not in numbers.” She also noted that the “very kind, very soft and very loving” King of Rock & Roll always “respected” her age. She added, “People think, ‘Oh, it was sex.’ Not at all. I never had sex with him [at the time].”

Speaking on their time together before divorcing, Priscilla said, “It was the lifestyle that was so difficult for me, and I think any woman can relate to that. But [the breakup] didn’t mar our relationship. We still remained very close, and of course we had our daughter, and I made sure that he saw her all the time. It was like we never left each other — so I want to make that clear.”
