Princess Love isn’t looking to call off her divorce from Ray J despite their recent joint appearance at the BET Awards, a new report claims. Court documents obtained by Radar Online, reveal that the 37-year-old wants to proceed by requesting the court to set a trial date for their divorce, which will also lay out custody plans for their two children Epik and Melody.
Furthermore, the trial date will also go over visitation rights, child support, spousal support, attorney fees, and division of properties, per the publication. Princess’ decision to move ahead with the divorce comes just weeks after the pair walked the red carpet at the BET Awards last month. Inside the venue, the pair even sat next to each other as they cheered on Ray’s sister Brandy, who took to the stage to perform “First Class” with rapper Jack Harlow.

Their public appearance certainly made it seem as if the couple’s third divorce filing had been called off, but Princess’ court filing clearly indicates otherwise, reportedly mentioning in the legal documents that she’s “focused on a divorce settlement and not working on the marriage.” The pair tied the knot back in 2016 and televised their nuptials on VH1’s “Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood.”
Back in October, it was Ray J who filed divorce papers while seemingly hospitalized for pneumonia at the time. The docs were filed at LA County Superior Court, and though Princess and her soon-to-be ex had been working on their marriage, it appeared as if they soon realized their romance had run its course.
Princess was the first person to file for divorce back in May 2020 when she requested full legal and physical custody of both children before the two decided to give their marriage another shot. A few months later, however, Ray J decided to file a divorce petition of his own in September of that same year.
They were able to work through their differences and decided to get back together until Ray J’s latest filing in late 2021, during which time he was battling pneumonia and had been hospitalized as doctors suspected he had also contracted Covid-19.

A year before Princess’ divorce filing in 2020, she had accused Ray J of leaving her and their daughter stranded in Las Vegas while she was heavily pregnant with their second child. She had taken to social media to bash her partner for leaving her while she desperately tried to find a way to get home.
Princess asserted that Ray had been disappearing from their hotel room to party with escorts and strippers, via E News, which prompted her to stop wearing her wedding ring. And while the “Wait a Minute” singer never admitted to those accusations, he did go on to apologize to Princess during an appearance on The Wendy Williams Show a few weeks later, insisting that he was determined to make things right with his wife.
