Prince William Breaks Silence To Defend Royal Family Against Racism Claims Following Meghan & Harry’s Explosive Interview: ‘We Are Not A Racist Family’

Prince William is speaking out for the first time since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey. While briefly talking to reporters Thursday morning, he hit back at racism claims made by the former royal couple.

As he and wife Kate Middleton stepped out for the first time since the family was stunned and “saddened” by the interview, the Duke of Cambridge told a Sky News reporter, “We are very much not a racist family.” When asked if he had spoken to Harry after the bombshell interview, he added, “No, I haven’t spoken to him yet, but I will do.”

As we previously reported, Meghan said that there were “concerns and conversations about how dark [Archie’s] skin might be when he’s born.” The comments were made by a member of the royal family, but Meghan and Harry refrained from sharing the name. However, Harry later made it clear to Oprah that it was not his grandparents Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip.

The couple did hold back during the sit-down interview with Oprah, during which Markle and Harry revealed that they felt defenseless when the family didn’t shut down stories by the tabloids that were untrue about them, like Meghan making Kate cry before her royal wedding. The former actress said it was actually the other way around.
