In an interview with The Telegraph, Prince Harry revealed that the original transcript of his memoir “Spare” contained more details about his family and that he edited the sections about his father and brother. The original draft had 800 pages rather than the published 400 pages, but the changes were made at the last minute. “It could have been two books, put it that way. And the hard bit was taking things out. There are some things that have happened, especially between me and my brother, and to some extent between me and my father, that I just don’t want the world to know,” he explained.

Because I don’t think they would ever forgive me,” Prince Harry continued. He mentioned that his family had considered publishing their own book, which was another factor that influenced him to change his mind. That didn’t stop him from keeping other details private, such as his marital problems with Meghan Markle and a physical altercation with Prince William.

According to Page Six, Prince Harry also accused Prince William and Princess Kate of being unfriendly toward his wife and telling him to wear the infamous Nazi costume to a dance party. The memoir states Harry had the decision to either choose between a pilot or a Nazi costume.

“I phoned Willy and Kate, and asked what they thought. Nazi uniform, they said. They both howled. Worse than Willy’s leotard outfit! Way more ridiculous! Which, again, was the point.”

He stated during the interview that he was aware that he’ll face backlash for including any personal details about his family but noted it would’ve been impossible without their input. Additionally, he has concerns for his niece and nephews, believing the monarchy can be reformed.

Prince Harry asked for his family to apologize to his wife, claiming nobody listened when he spoke out about her mistreatment.

Before the memoir’s publication, Prince Harry faced criticism for exposing too many secrets but some see it as a move against the media in case any other personal details come out about him and his family.
