Prince Harry Tries Chicken And Waffles For The First Time In His Life At Harlem’s Melba’s
Prince Harry is getting into some new flavors!
On Friday, Harry and wife Meghan Markle stopped by the popular Harlem soul food restaurant Melba’s after visiting the elementary school PS 123.
A fellow diner at the restaurant told Page Six that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex tried a bunch of food like Southern fried chicken and eggnog waffles, spring rolls, catfish, collard greens and yams, the news site notes. “Harry said it was the first time he’d ever tried chicken and waffles and remarked it was delicious,” the onlooker said and added that Harry also had collard greens, a family favorite, because Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, makes the dish often for the Royal couple.
The owner of the restaurant, Melba Wilson wrote on Instagram, “This was truly a dream come true for this girl who was Born, Bred and Buttered in Harlem! I am forever grateful! 🙏🏽”
