From the outside looking in, Prince Harry’s relationship with Meghan Markle may seem like a fairytale — but judging by a new excerpt from the Prince’s upcoming memoir, “Spare,” the romance appears to be far from it. As previously revealed, Harry is releasing his book on January 10, in which he discusses everything from his turbulent relationship with the Royal Family, past drug use, the loss of his mother, and starting a new life in California.

In one part of the book, however, the 38-year-old also talks about deciding to seek therapy following a “cruel” fight with Meghan where he had “snapped” at her. While he doesn’t reveal what the argument was about, the pair had to separate one another over Harry’s sudden loud tone towards the former “Suits” actress. “She was calm, but said in a quiet, level tone that she would never stand for being spoken to like that,” he wrote.

“She wasn’t going to raise children in an atmosphere of anger or disrespect. She laid it all out, super-clear.” Meghan questioned him who had taught him to think that speaking in that manner was okay. He responded by saying he “overheard adults speak” like that in his family. “It was obvious that I could use some help with the job. ‘I’ve tried therapy,’ I told her. ‘Willy told me to go. Never found the right person.’ [It] didn’t work,” Harry added, but she urged him to try again.

Of course, this isn’t the first time Harry has spoken out about getting therapy after leaving his family behind in the UK. Back in May 2021, the father of two said that Meghan convincing him to talk to a specialist about his thoughts helped him become a better version of himself.

Harry and Meghan made headlines last month after their self-titled docu-series premiered on Netflix, documenting their lives after quitting their titles as working royal members. The couple was determined to share their story after claiming they had been bullied and slammed by the British press ever since they tied the knot and the media supposedly decided to switch their narrative on Meghan.

“Harry & Meghan” was one of the most-watched shows on the streaming platform in December.
