Prince Harry has revealed in his upcoming memoir that he expected The Royal Family to continue providing security for him and his family after stepping down as a senior royal, especially since security is still provided for his uncle Andrew. He stated that his uncle is”embroiled in a shameful scandal, accused of the sexual assault of a young woman and no one had so much suggested that he lose his security.” Harry questioned why his family was being made a scapegoat when his uncle’s alleged actions were allegedly far worse.

“Whatever grievances people had against us, sex crimes weren’t on the list,” he explained. Prince Harry previously announced in January 2022  that he was unable to personally afford to cover the cost of security for his family while visiting the United Kingdom as reported by Newsweek.

“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex personally fund a private security team for their family, yet that security cannot replicate the necessary police protection needed whilst in the U.K. In the absence of such protection, Prince Harry and his family are unable to return to his home.”

Prince Harry has been very candid about his experience as a royal family member and his transition into adulthood. He recently revealed that he experimented with drugs such as mushrooms and cocaine as a teenager which changed his outlook.

“At someone’s house, during a hunting weekend, I was offered a line, and since then I had consumed some more. It wasn’t very fun, and it didn’t make me feel especially happy as seemed to happen to others, but it did make me feel different, and that was my main objective. To feel. To be different.” He went on to say, “I was a 17-year-old willing to try almost anything that would alter the pre-established order.”

Additionally, he decided to seek therapy after revealing he was cruel to his wife, Meghan Markle, during one of their arguments.

“She wasn’t going to raise children in an atmosphere of anger or disrespect. She laid it all out, super-clear.” Meghan questioned him who had taught him to think that speaking in that manner was okay. He responded by saying he “overheard adults speak” like that in his family. “It was obvious that I could use some help with the job. ‘I’ve tried therapy,’ I told her. ‘Willy told me to go. Never found the right person.’ [It] didn’t work,” Harry added, but she urged him to try again.’
