Trump Claims Jimmy Carter ‘Died A Happy Man’—Says Biden Took His Spot As Worst President
Looks like Donald Trump is still dragging his political rivals even the ones who have passed.
During an Oval Office meeting with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, Trump launched into one of his classic off-script moments. He slammed President Joe Biden and threw late President Jimmy Carter into the mix too.
He claimed that Biden’s administration was “worse than Jimmy Carter.” He went on
“Jimmy Carter died a happy man,” Trump continued. “You know why? Because he wasn’t the worst. President Joe Biden was.”

This ain’t even new. Trump made almost the exact same claim during his 2024 campaign trail, right after his criminal hush money trial wrapped up in a conviction. That time, he declared:
“Biden is the worst president in the history of our country, worse than Jimmy Carter by a long shot.”
And just in case folks thought he was done, Trump doubled down:
“Jimmy Carter is happy because he had a brilliant presidency compared to Biden.”

Jimmy Carter’s Passing Sparks Reflection—But Trump Made It Political
Jimmy Carter, the 39th President of the United States, passed away peacefully on December 29, 2024, at the age of 100 at his home in Plains, Georgia. The former peanut farmer-turned-peacemaker left behind a powerful legacy as a humanitarian, peace advocate, and devout Christian who reshaped post-presidency activism.
Despite their differences, Trump did issue a respectful statement at the time of Carter’s passing, acknowledging his service and dedication to the nation.
Carter’s funeral drew political figures from all across the aisle. Held at the Washington National Cathedral on January 9, 2025, the ceremony was declared a National Day of Mourning—a rare honor reserved for former presidents.
Online Reactions: “He’ll Talk Crazy About You—Dead Or Alive”
Social media lit up following Trump’s latest remarks.
One user on X (formerly Twitter) wrote,
“Trump gone talk crazy about you—dead or alive. Not even Jimmy Carter can rest in peace.”
Another user posted:
“Only Trump could turn a eulogy into a campaign ad.”
Meanwhile, Biden supporters clapped back, highlighting economic recovery numbers, job creation, and infrastructure spending under the current administration.
Whether it’s calling Biden “the worst,” or using a funeral to drag a legacy, Trump continues to keep the political pot boiling.
