According to the Daily Mail, President Trump said during the briefing that his administration was making economic measures to help combat the outbreak. However, he refused to answer questions from journalists who asked if he was tested for the novel coronavirus after being in contact with Congressman Gaetz over the weekend. Vice President Mike Pence said he did not get tested for the disease although he and Trump attended the CPAC conference where one of the attendees tested positive for the coronavirus.

However, he did not give a clear answer as to whether the president has been tested:

‘We’ll get you a very direct answer on that. I’ve had no recommendation that I be tested.’

President Trump and his family spent the weekend in Florida with Gaetz and traveled back on the Air Force One. Gaetz’s office said in a statement that he is not experiencing any symptoms and is taking the necessary steps of self-quarantine:

‘Congressman Gaetz was informed today that he came into contact with a CPAC attendee 11 days ago who tested positive for COVID-19. While the Congressman is not experiencing symptoms, he received testing today and expects results soon. Under doctor’s usual precautionary recommendations, he’ll remain self-quarantined until the 14-day period expires this week.’
