President Biden’s campaign chair, Jen O’Malley Dillon, is trying to put an end to the speculation surrounding President Biden’s commitment to the race.

In an interview with MSNBC, O’Malley Dillon affirmed that Biden is staying in the race and is eager to get back on the campaign trail.

“Absolutely the president’s in this race,” Jen O’Malley Dillon said in an interview on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” Friday. “He’s our nominee and he’s going to be our president for a second term,” she said. She also acknowledged “this has been such a hard week” for the campaign but insisted that President Biden, who is sick with COVID, will be “back on the trail next week.

The concerns about Biden’s candidacy have been growing, with some Democratic members of Congress calling for him to drop out. However, O’Malley Dillon emphasized that Biden is determined to continue the fight against Donald Trump.

“Joe Biden is more committed than ever to beat Donald Trump,” Dillon said. “And we believe on this campaign we are built for the close election that we’re in, and we see the path forward. “The president is the leader of our campaign and of the country and he is clearly—in our impression and what we’ve built, and in our engagement with voters—he is the best person to take on Donald Trump, and prosecute that case and present his vision versus what we saw last night.”

While battling a COVID-19 infection and recovering from a challenging debate with Trump, Biden remains with his head held high. Despite being isolated at his beach house in Delaware, he is determined to press on with his campaign next week.

The push for Biden to reconsider his election bid has come from influential members of the Democratic Party who fear that his continued presence in the race could jeopardize their chances of gaining control of the House.

However, it’s clear by his campaign team that he’s not giving up or stepping down without finishing the race.
