President Biden: Top White House Democrat Says ‘Off The Record, Biden Is Not Running’ For Re-Election In 2024
Now, a few weeks ago the U.S. Rep predicted that Biden wouldn’t be running in 2024, despite the White House claiming he would.
At the time, Maloney was asked if the President should run again during a congressional primary debate in New York’s 12th district. on Tuesday (August 2). She replied, “I don’t believe he’s running for reelection.”
A day later, the Democratic Representative recanted and told CNN that she was sorry for broaching the issue during a debate. Maloney said:
“Mr President, I apologize. I want you to run. I happen to think you won’t be running. But when you run, or if you run, I will be there 100%.
You have deserved it. You are a great president and thank you for everything you’ve done for my state, and all the states, and all the cities in America. Thank you, Mr President.”

Now, it is reported that some members of Democratic party say it should be led by younger figures. Maloney is 76 years old and Biden is 79 years old.
Biden was 78 when he was inaugurated in January 2021, becoming the oldest president ever to take office. He’ll soon be 82 after the 2024 election. So, if he were to win that contest, he would be 86 by the end of his second term in office.
While some Democrats agree, the majority of the Republicans claim Biden is just too old to perform his duties properly. However, the President has repeatedly said that he fully intends on putting in his bid to run again.
In a poll conducted by CNN and published last month, they found that 75% of Democratic and Democratic-leaning voters would like the party to nominate someone other than President Joe Biden for the upcoming 2024 election. The site claims that this proved to have a sharp increase from earlier this year.
Meanwhile, Democratic Rep. Dean Phillips of Minnesota stated in an interview recently that he does not want Biden to run for president in 2024.
During an interview on the Chad Hartman radio show on WCCO-AM, Phillips said:
“I have respect for Joe Biden. I think he has – despite some mistakes and some missteps, despite his age, I think he’s a man of decency, of good principle, of compassion, of empathy, and of strength.
But to answer your question directly, which I know is quite rare, uh no, I don’t. I think the country would be well served by a new generation of compelling, well-prepared, dynamic Democrats to step up.”

After recanting her initial prediction, Maloney is now doubling back down on her “Biden is not running” for re-election claims. In a recent New York Times interview she went and said it again.
The leading House Democrat stated, “Off the record, he’s not running again.” When asked for a quote on the record, she said, “On the record? No, he should not run again.”
