Canadian Electro-pop musician Riotron continues his ascension to the heights of the electronic music scene. Blasting off into stardom with his newest releases and brand new set of remixes for his track “Life Is What We’re Living,” the artist has teamed up with legendary electronic music pioneer Paul Oakenfold for the first time in his career.

Riotron is known for tracks like Silent Night” featuring Goldhouse, “I’m Sorry” feat. Tom Green, viewed over 20M times and “Dark Highway,” viewed over 15M times on YouTube alone. With over 40M plays in his prolific debut year, Riotron is now hungry for more with a myriad of collaborations planned this year.

Previously remixed by Mahalo and released as a video on youtube, the track’s astonishing visual experience features actor Tyler Posey of MTV’s ‘Teen Wolf’ series, and 80s icon Lea Thompson of ‘Back To The Future’. Directed by the acclaimed Alissa Torvinen, “Life Is What We’re Living” has exploded, counting over 6M views on YouTube in its first month of release.

Getting a distinct melodic makeover from the master Oakenfold, the British icon has deployed his full artistic prowess on this creation. His familiar golden touch sustains its awe throughout the epic 4:06 minutes. Even before hearing it on a dancefloor you can visualize the transient state that every dancer experiences; the darkness of the club merging with the light from the track.

When asked about working on the remix, Paul Oakenfold answered sincerely that “I really enjoyed working on the remix for “Life Is What We’re Living” with Riotron. I tried to take it in a more uplifting direction and I think everyone will be pleased with the final result. I know I am”.

Born in 1963, Paul Oakenfold released his first collab album in 1994; titled “Journeys by DJ”. The success of the album was followed with an exceptional notoriety as a producer, leading him to work with U2, Arrested Development and Massive Attack. Paul Oakenfold was then offered the opportunity to compose his first film soundtracks. We can even hear his sound in the score of ” Planet of the Apes”, “Swordfish” or “Matrix,” just to name a few.

Jeff Fettes, Riotron, when asked about his experience working with the great, was much more revealing about his fandom. “Paul Oakenfold is the reason I got interested in dance music. In fact, he’s one of the reasons everyone is interested in it. Listening to his early music inspired me to mix genres and in the process elevate the core song into something more original. I was honored that he even listened to my song, let alone remixed it.”

Riotron and Paul Oakenfold share an intense symbiotic relationship when it comes to their music, masterfully displayed in “Life Is What We’re Living,” a special alchemy of sounds that listeners won’t forget anytime soon!
