Pregnant Florida Woman Rescued Husband From Shark

A pregnant Florida woman jumped into action to save her husband who was being attacked by a shark.

Andrew Eddy, 30, was on a boat with his wife, Margot Dukes-Eddy and her family on Sunday morning by Sombrero Reef, in Florida. Andrew took a dip in the water when a shark suddenly latched onto him.

”Dukes saw the shark’s dorsal fin and then blood filling the water. Dukes, without hesitation, dove into the water and pulled Eddy to the safety of the boat,” Deputy Christopher Aguanno said.

Eddy, 30, was taken by boat to Sombrero Beach in Marathon where a medical team was waiting to greet him. He was then flown by Monroe County’s helicopter air ambulance to Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami.

Eddy’s condition and injury was noted to be severe, however the family did not further comment and requested their privacy.

“This was a very rare medical crisis for the Florida Keys, but everyone came together — including those witnesses on the boat to 911 Communicators to all our emergency responders — in order to ensure this victim received life-saving care,” Sheriff Ramsay said in a statement.
