A pregnant California woman who is currently stuck in Afghanistan says the Taliban are going door to door to collect American passports.

The woman only identified as Nasria,25, said she went to the country in June to visit family and get married to her boyfriend who is an Afghan national. She says since American officials and the military have exited out of the country, the Taliban is going to households in search of American passports to collect.
“There’s been days where I think to myself, “am I going to make it home? am I going to end up living here? Am I going to end up dying here?” What’s going to happen?. Now, with the American presence in the country gone, she says, Apparently, they’re [the Taliban] going door-to-door now. Trying to see if anyone has a blue passport.”

Additionally, the Taliban has prevented Americans from leaving the country as six-passenger planes were stopped at Mazar-iSharif International Airport. Nasria also mentioned how she was kicked in the stomach at the airport as Taliban soldiers were preventing people from leaving the country.
She added that no one came to help her after informing the State Department about the situation.
‘We were waiting an extra 12 to 13 hours, with no food, no water, nothing,If I was only 15 steps away from the airport, and I was told, “people are going to come out of the airport to get me, what kind of hope am I supposed to have now.”
