‘Power Rangers’ Star Jason David Frank Dies At 49; Known As First Green Ranger

#Socialites, we come to you with some sad news on this Sunday morning. It has been reported that Jason David Frank, better known as one of the original “Power Rangers” has died at age 49.

‘Power Rangers’ Star Jason David Frank Dies At 49; Known As First Green Ranger

Frank — who was the first Green Ranger — passed away in Texas. His rep Justine Hunt confirmed to TMZ. The outlet claims that additional sources with direct knowledge told them that Frank’s “death was the result of suicide.”

Hunt released the following statement: “Please respect the privacy of his family and friends during this horrible time as we come to terms with the loss of such a wonderful human being. He loved his family, friends and fans very much. He will truly be missed.”

He is survived by his four children; and his legacy also continues with his work with the ‘Mighty Morphin Power Rangers’ — where he has starred as one of the leads, Tommy Oliver, for 3 seasons, totaling 123 episodes.

Fans notably remember Frank as the Green Ranger in Season 1 of the original TV show. Before he was transformed into a good guy, he, at first, was introduced to the viewers as the enemy of the Power Rangers.

Then, as Oliver began to lose his powers as the Green Ranger, he would regain his abilities and transition into the White Ranger, eventually joining the Power Rangers as their new leader.

Frank also reprised his role as Oliver in different adaptations of the ‘Power Rangers’ show and movie. Those features include: ‘Wild Force;’ ‘Turbo;’ ‘Zeo;’ ‘Dino Thunder;’ ‘Megaforce;’ ‘Ninja Steel;’ ‘HyperForce;’ etc.

Fans have also seen Frank play as a Red Ranger, Black Ranger a newer version of the Green Ranger.

In addition to fighting with the ‘Power Rangers,’ Frank was actually a professionally trained MMA fighter in real life, active between 2008 to 2010.

It’s reported that he even fully knew the various fighting styles of Taekwondo, Muay Thai, Judo, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and more.
